The cliché goes that every photo tells a story. Well in taking this portrait, the Dyker (that's what Drystone Waller's are called locally) told me his story. Apparently sometime over the weekend five male youths in a car, allegedly high on drugs managed to drive into the rather solid drystone wall (on a straight road), demolishing this 6 meter section. Three of the car's occupants escaped while the other two were detained by local police, refusing to give up the names of their friends. The only winners are the Drystone Waller's who get paid to rebuild the wall.
